I had very light brown hair with highlights. But my highlights on the top of my head had blended and you couldn't distinguish the highlight. I went to the beauty solon and asked if they could put in a little color between the highlight just enough to define the highlight, my roots also needed to be touched up so they were going to do that also. They pulled out the hair for the highlights and put color all over my head. My hair came out a very, very dark brown with mostly gray and purple highlights. The same day I went to another solon the works on color correction and told them what had happened and what I wanted. They pulled out some of the dark and bleached it. They never got rid of the rest of the dark. So now I still have dark hair with more gray and purple highlights. What can I do to get my light brown hair with my highlights back? This has been the 4th beauty solon in the past 2 years that have ruined my hair. Can I fix this myself and can I do it without bleaching my hair? :eek:

In order to go back to very light brown, you must bleach your hair a couple levels lighter than your original color and then apply a toner to achieve the color you want. Once your hair is one even color, you can put the highlights back. It's going to be difficult to fix it yourself. I recommend that you go to the salon and have it done. A hairstylist will need to do corrective color on you. Ask them to make your hair one even color, which is (very light brown), and let them know that you would like some highlights in your hair.
