    Jeep GC replace door latch
I have a 93 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The driver side door latch is broken, (not operational). The door won't open. I have been trying to find another door latch at the local salvage yards without any luck. Does the replacement latch have to come from a jeep GC, or is there another vehicle that could interchange the partts?

I would get it right from jeep. Most of them have plastic parts and a used one may break soon after putting it into service.

You can try the "help" parts section of a local parts store or a chrysler parts website.

    Goodluck!

My husband works on Jeeps for a living, has for 25 years. A friend was looking for a very similar part recently. From the dealership, expect to pay between $90 to $120. And give them at least 3 days to order the part, most dealerships don't stock them.

That is expensive! Getting back to your original question about interchangeability, a parts person from the jeep dealer can tell you what else it fits. If they are nice.
