If it is a new dryer : new units are wired and programmed in a drum run-stop mode. This saves electricity and improves the drying process.

If it is a new problem with your old dryer : please describe what happens more clearly. When does it shut off? For how long?
It can be that your dryer is overheating : the thermoswitch opens than till the working temperature is at proper levels again. Do you clean the air filter after every drying session?
