I have been looking for a fantasy movie, probably made in Italy and dubbed in English
Made circa the late 50's or ealy 60's.
It scared the living daylights out of me, I loved it!
The hero had been dipped in the same river Styx as Achilles by his mother t make
Him invincible.
The princess was abducted by an evil warlock and the hero had to survive
"seven trials" to save her. I think the movie may bear that in it's name.
His mother resurrected eight Crusaders from a wall carved in relief, to accompany him.
I remember some of the trials the first being a dismal swamp with water that
Would kill whomever fell in.
Another was a desert so hot it would burn off one's flesh.
One was a beautiful woman who embraced one of the soldiers and suddenly turned
Into a horrible looking witch. I think she bit him which killed him or changed him.
Another was a cave they entered and had skeletons or skulls flying at them from a
Psychedelic sort of blackness.
There were more that I can't remember. I do remember he arrived at the warlock's castle
And had to fight him and dragons, of course.
I suspect that if I see it now, it'll be really hokey, but it has stuck in my memory all these years.
