Do you mean "SOHO USB" (Small Office / Home Office Universal Serial Bus)?

Did this device come with a "driver" CD?

Look in Device Manager (right-click on "My Computer" and select "Manage". Click "Device Manager" on the left side. Then click the top of the tree on the right side.).

With the device attached, see if there's anything with an exclamation mark on it and uninstall those devices. Also, uninstall all devices under "Floppy Disk Drives". Rescan for devices (there's an icon on the toolbar -- it's supposed to look like a computer monitor. Hold the mouse over it and see if it says "Scan for Hardware Changes". Click that to rescan).

    -----------------------

If that doesn't work, try this:

Unplug ALL USB devices. Open Device Manager.
    Click "View, Show Hidden Devices".
Uninstall all devices under USB Controllers (select them and delete them).
Uninstall all devices under Floppy Disk Drives
Uninstall all devices under Disk Drives that you are sure aren't there. Be careful not to delete your boot hard drive.
Uninstall all devices under Storage Volumes. If you see any "reboot" prompts, say "No" to them until you've finished. If a Storage Volume doesn't uninstall, ignore it.
If there are any "unknown devices", uninstall of them also.

Now, rescan using "Scan for hardware changes".

If that doesn't work, report back and maybe I can think of something else.

Did a driver disk come with the unit? If so, you need to reinstall the driver.
