    Kenmore elite dryer won't heat for long takes to or 3 cycles to dry clothes
    Dyer kemore elite will not dry clothes power is on but clothes are damp changed lint filter didn't help

    Gas or electric?

    If you're sure you have heat (either a flame or the electric heater is working), I would bet on a plugged vent line. This is very common. I recommend disassembling the vent line and cleaning it out. This should be done periodically even if your clothes seem to be drying. It's a protection against problems with the dryer and a protection against fire.

    Also shorten the vent hose; kinks or excessive bends in the hose will cause the unit to indicate overheating.
