Should I test one week after conception, or too soon?
I had my last period on Feb 28th. I ovulated on March 16th. I did the home ovulation test strips to be sure. We are trying to get pregnant of course. Today is the 22 of march, and my next period will be a week away tomorrow. I have a pregnant. Test at home for 5 days before missed period. If I use that test tomorrow, could it show positive yet, or is it too soon since we had sex just 7 days ago? I know your HG levels go up 6-10 days after... but is it usually later than sooner? Or should I wait until I miss the next period in a week? I'm just really axious about knowing, but don't want to test too soon and not be accurate.

If you did indeed ovulate on the 16th, it would be a bit too soon yet. Takes a number of days for the egg to be fertilized, make its way to the uterus, and implant.
Some women will get a positive result several days before their period is due, but the accuracy for results will go up once you have actually missed a period.
You could try a test in the next fews days, but if it is negative it doesn't necessarily mean you aren't pregnant... you would have to wait and see what happens with your period anyway.
A hint that might help... best odds of getting pregnant are to have frequent sex in the few days right before you suspect ovulation will occur and right through ovulation. Trying to catch that one day causes many couples to miss out timing wise. Timing is just one factor in getting pregnant, so try not to get discouraged if it doesn't happen right away. For many couples it takes several months of trying, and most couples will become pregnant within a year... some even a bit longer.

Thanks. We were having sex the days leading up to ovulation, and three days after as well. It took us a year and a half with our first baby. But I heard the second time around you are more fertile so it would be faster.

Sounds like you have the timing covered... :)
The second time may or may not be faster... there is often no rhymn or reason to it. Some couples will even find they experience what is known as secondary infertility... having trouble conceiving after already have had one child or more.
Hopefully this time around will be much faster than your previous time... good luck!

Conception to pregnancy test

Does anyone know if it is possible to conceive on the day your period is due and have a positive test 4 days later. My friend reckons it is but I think that as the egg takes time to travel and implant and then give out the pregnancy hormone it would be impossible to have a positive result 4 days...
