    Papers served
My ex-son in law wants to have papers served for my daughter in care of me.
She does not live here, I don't knoe where she lives and I explained that to him on the phone.
I gave him her email address, that is all I have for her.
When the papers come, addressed to her,in care of me, am I reponsable to accept them?
If the names are not legally correct , should I accept them?
I reallyu don't want to be involved in this.
Shall I return the envelop to sender, since she does not live here?
Thank you for any advice you can give me.

I don't know what he thinks he's "serving" on her but first service by mail is NOT legal service in many cases. When you get an envelope addressed to your daughter you write, "Does not live here - return to sender" on the envelope and hand it back to the mail delivery person. Keep in mind that this means NONE of her mail comes to your address.

And, no, he can't serve you other than as a responsible person IF she lives with you.

It is also possible that he has a Court Order to serve her at your address (or serve you in her place and stead) but I rather doubt it.

(I own/run a process service company in NY.)
