    Central Humidifier Drain Clogged Q2
    Hi,

I asked about clogged drain(for central humidifier) in my basement yesterday.
Thanks for those who posted replies.

After trying plunger and snake-in, I just wore gloves and could take out some stuff from the drain. There were small rocks, dirts and even some decaying leaves! I have no idea how they got in there..

Well, is there a pump that is supposed to help to suck out those stuff?
My friend keeps saying there is such a thing, and it caused the problem in her house..

Oh, anthoer thing is, some weeks ago, I never heard the noise coming out of dehumidifier in the basement(not right next to the humidifier though).. is that relevant?

    Thanks,

    Sandra

Use a measuring stick and stick it in your drain to see how far below the floor the trap is. If it is only 6 to 8 inches then then try to find some kind of kitchen gadget that looks somewhat like a gravy ladle, use this to dip all of the stuff out of the trap.

Do not use more than a small stream of water until you are sure you got most of the stuff out or you will wash it down into the line and that would be a bigger problem..

I have no idea why you would have a humidifier and a dehumidifier going at the same time if that is what you meant.
