Leaking port on valve stem of sillcock
I have a leak just below the valve handle. When the valve is open and the water is flowing to the spigot opening, I have a significant leak (approx 5 gal/hr) from this port (see pic) on the value stem. While this pic is from a replacement sillcock, the problem is on a similar, but 20 yr. old freeze-free, anti siphon sillcock currently installed.

Researching previously reported issues, the thread below was close to my problem, but didn't specifically speak to the leaking port:

I'd like to avoid having to break the already soldered joint in the basement and install the replacement sillcock as recommended by the fella in Lowe's plumbing supply aisle.

    I appreciate your help... thanks.

You can remove the stem without breaking your soldered connection. Place a spanner on the nut just below the handle, it's a good idea to also hold the valve with something like a Channelock. Remove the stem and replace the O rings inside, grease with silicone gel or plumbers grease and reinstall.

Thanks for the advice Dr. Ballenger. I'll give it a try and post my results.

I'd take the stem with me to the hardware store to get a good match.
