    BCU on 97 ford contour
    Where is he BCU unit located on a 97 ford contour? Is it hard to replace with out a mechanics shop?

    If you mean PCU (Powertrain Control Unit), Ford frequently locates it under the hood, along the firewall on the passenger's side. Disconnect the negative battery cable, before removing the two nuts going to the mounting studs and the machine screw securing the main connector.
