    What are the reasons of development payback period , a capital budgeting technique ?
    Why payback period , a capital budgeting technique was developed?
    Help me out guys regarding the history behind these techniques:)

    The treatment of this subject is very adequately found in a book called:-
    The Capital Budgeting Decision by
    Harold Bierman, Jr and Seymour Smidt.

    I recommend it very highly.
