Just received a unlawful detainer eviction notice from my mother
    Hi,
My served me with a unlawful detainer eviction notice, yesterday.i have never been evicted before so i am a little lost. She is evicting me because when she started charging me rent i was late the !st month, and only sent her half of it. My reason for sending only 1/2, the gas co. shut off water heater because leaking carbon monoxide and i had 2 have a plumer out to fix problomes before it was safe to turn on, gas co. orders. So since i was the one who paid the plumbers bill, i deducted from rent.and she changed the due date from the 25th to the 15th at the 1st of the month. Do i have a chance in courtor am i waisting everyone's time by not just leaving. But i have no where to go so i am in a fckd situation. Any suggestions?? thanks u jeanette

Well first did you tell her about the leak and did she OK you to have it fixed. Do you have the receipt for the plumbing to show the court.

Next while I am glad they got it fixed, who called them, how did they find out there was a leak.

Next do you have a lease ?
If not, she can really ask you to leave just because she wants to

The gas company came out because i smelled something, it ended up being carbon monoxide and gas co. put some kind of sticker on the water heater and turned off right ten. Then said i needed to have a plumber come out to fix and until than spend as little time ,if possible none in garage where water heater is until it has been fixed. As far as rent agreements, she always is having me sign one of her agreements she has mad. So yes i guess that would meen i have a rent agreement

A friend of mine went to court for unlawful detainer. The case was dismissed. Does that mean if he tries to get another place it may possibly show up.
