    Affadavit of Support
I lost my job in October and at the same time received the affidavit of Support form in the mail to bring my husband over from Jamaica. I have no steady income other than unemployment. I have no family to sponsor my husband to use on the form. I need my husbands assistance to keep me afloat. What do I do?

Any advice would greatly be appreciated.

You fill out the Affidavit in an honest fashion, telling the truth, and see how things work out. I see no other choice.

If you want to complete the process, you have 2 options; (1) use the asset test of 5 times the difference you are short on the USCIS minimum of 125% of the HHS poverty guidelines for your family size. Please note the new 2009 guidelines have come out so the numbers have increased or (2) get a joint sponsor. They do not need to be a family member, but must qualify including your family size.

You cannot use your husbands income as it is not in the US.
