From perfect to messed up badly hearing.
I would like to hear from an ENT if he/she enters this site.

I had perfect hearing up until December 2008. Suddenly like over night I realize that my right ear has gone bizirk. I will try to talk to people on the phone and it sounds like every one has a cold or the sound is very muffled.

When I listen to music either played by myself or by the Television or some other form of music; I hear like the regular not plus this off key note or echo in the back ground of the first sound.

It happens all at the same time. I think you can understand my frustration. I am a musician and want to get back to my work but it is impossible to know if I am singing on pitch.

This is very disturbing... If you are a ENT or have visited an ENT with the same problem can you tell me what it is. I don't have constant ringing in my ears nor wiring. That has all left.

So if any one can help me please feel free to answer my questions.

    Sincerely
    :confused::eek:

    Hello whynot

I assume your ENT refers to Ear, Nose and Throat.
The problem you describe sounds like wax problems in your right ear.
Just visit your doctor and have your ear(s) flushed.
If this does not answer your question, please provide more specific details, and what you have done so far against the problem.

Another thread on this board that may help you is provided under this link ...

Hi Sarnian: Thanks for the speedy advice wow.

Any way I have had ear problems all of my life, surgery on my left ear for a Clustiatoma cyst. It was a long surgery and had to have a follow up surgery to make sure that all the disease was removed.

I am so worried that I will need surgery on this ear but my doctor has looked at the ear and says nothing. I don't know if he knows what he is doing half of the time. I am thinking of changing my family doctor to some one else.

I am taking wellbutrin as an anti depressant and it helps but I hear that one can have inner ear or nerve damage if they become OUTO Toxic... It is scary. Also I asked my GP several months ago to refer me to an ENT (Ear/Nose/Throat/) specialist but he never did.

Any way I hope you are right about the wax. But why would he not see it.

    Sincerely

You need to get to an ent, don't wait. I have had surgery on both my ears to remove the clustiatoma(2 on my left and 1 on my right).Actually I have just come back from my ent appointment to get the results of my ct scan on both ears. The right ear is fine but my left it has returned and my ent is sending me to a specialist who only deals with severe clustiatoma reoccurances. It is scary but it needs to be done. My first surgery on my left ear when I was 13 the clustiatoma eroded my hearing bones and I lost the majority of my hearing. Your clustiatoma may not be back and I pray its not but you need to get them checked out better safe than sorry. That's why I see my ent every 2 or 3 years.
