    Time limit on pressing charges
I was under the impression that a car was giving to me and when I picked the car up and pulled it home on a trailer, I was then told to take car back because it was reported stolen. So I returned the car to the place I picked it up from and know she might press charges on me and my father. What should we do?

The SOL depends on location from about one year to three years depending on the exact charge.

Of course your paper work where you were given the car, had them give you and sign over the title will be your proff it was not stolen ( bet you did not even get a hand written note? )

At this point you wait and see, you can talk with an attorney , but it all depends on the other evidence and what they want to do
