General guide... about 20 ounces of milk each day... more if he is not eating many foods yet. Offer soft and finger foods at each meal... might offer whatever the family is having if you can soften or mash it up enough for him. If he has trouble still with it, make the texture even smoother with smaller lumps until he gets used to the texture and taste and can gradually start to handle more solid food.

If he's 14 months he should be on solid food -- as in table food cut into small pieces -- and you can top up with puréed food if he still likes. Once he's eating enough finger foods, you can stop giving puréed food. Milk should be 16-20 ounces per day. More than that could interfere with their appetite.

At 14 months my son would have breakfast (slice of toast and fresh fruit usually) and then a sippy cup of 3% milk.

He'd have a snack around 10:00 a.m. (usually fruit or crackers & cheese or yogurt, and water in a sippy cup)

He'd have lunch around noon with a sippy cup of milk and lunch would be a few servings of veggies plus pasta & sauce or rice & meat or fish, pretty much anything healthy (one toddler serving is about 1 tablespoon of veggies; if you're talking meat, one toddler serving is 1 ounce of meat).

He'd have a snack around 3:00 after waking from his nap. Afternoon snack is the same as the morning snack.

We eat dinner at 6:00 and it's pretty much the same as lunch except he gets dessert after dinner which is about a cup of cut-up fresh fruit. If he finishes all his dessert, he gets a few animal crackers.

My son is 11 months old and we have been feeding him from the table, eating the same things that we do. He seems to enjoy it and doesn't seem to upset his stomach. Though lately I have noticed his stool having a very foul stench. I can only compare it to a dead animal... :D it really is that...
