Employer contribution - HSA form 8889
I have an HSA to which my employer contributed in 2008, however, the W2 box 12 doesn't show any employer contribution. My statement from the bank shows that my employer contributed about 1000$ in 2008. This is not a pre-tax contribution.

In reading through instructions for form 8889, it appears to me that employer contributions (in line 9) should be reported on the W2. Can I write down my employer's contributions in line 9 of form 8889 even though it does not appear on my W2.

    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks.
