    Odd Smell Coming From Wall
There is a part to my office that smells terrible, like a dead animal or a leaking/moldy pipe. It could also be confused with septic backup, but I ruled that out when I had a sewer guy come and snake the line to only find no clogs.
So my question is.. who can I contact about finding out what this is?
    Should I call an exterminator?
Are they going to want to put a whole in our wall?
Should I buy a cat and let it smell out the problem and hopefully eat it? ; )
Any help would be so appreciated.
    Thanks!

    Hi, lfslfs!

How long has it smelled like that? Do you think that there could be the possibility of there being a dead mouse somewhere?

    Thanks!

    Hellooo!
Yes we think that is a possibility.. but don't want to go around paying an exterminator for something when it MAY not be the case you know?
That's why I'm wondering if there is some other service I could call? Perhaps a structural engineer?
    I have no idea : /

Just because your sewer line is open doesn't mean there is not a small crack in a cast pipe or a leak in a joint PVC.

If its coming from the wall and there is a vertical line there it could have a small leak and it wouldn't leak like a horizontal leak because the water pass over the leak area quick and it has a short time to leak.

An animal may be decomposing and that should eventually go away if it's a mouse.

On a side note a structural engineer has nothing to do with smells unless you think there is a materials/adhesive/ chemical reaction in materials. That's more in a chemist area.

If the smell doesn't go away I would get a plumber that has a camera and check the sewer for leaks not clogs. A leak doesn't always show up in the structure and can stay in a wall

At least that 99% cover on sewer smell

If it's a dead mouse the problem will selfcure in about another week.
