    Medication change
My mom was taking Metoprolol SUCC ER 50 mg and since there is a nationwide recall on Metoprolol she was given Toprol Xl 50 mg. Is this the same? I just want to make sure she is still on the extended release pill instead of the regular release. Thanks for answering.

Wouldn't it be best to ask her doctor this question? After all he is the one prescribing the medications.

As a healthcare provider myself, I would refer her to her pharmacist as he knows all of the medications that she is on and whether there could be any interactions.
