Bathtub hot water valve won't fully close?
I asked a question a while back and received excellent advice that solved the problem exactly. Now I have another problem same system.

I replace bathtub hot/cold/diverter valves, (did not replace seat may be bibb seat?) all seemed well, in a few months in order to turn on the hot water I was backing the valve out much more than before to get any flow. A few days later it was impossible to turn off the hot water, it continued to flow although slower. Had to turn it off at the hot water heater to go to work.

Removed hot water valve again, very hard to get out, the flat washer and thread gasket were pancaked, and the bibb screw was missing (? ). Bought a new valve, this time replaced seat, installed new still a trickle of water out when shut off. Removed valve again and replaced flat washer, still leaking. What the heck is going on? I really hope you guys have an answer that works as well as your previous one.

    Thanks
