    Installing a shower faucet
    I have set a 3 piece shower stall in place in my basement. I used mortar to stiffen up the shower floor. I now need to install the plumbing. My house is setup with PEX 1/2" piping. I need to know how I should connect the PEX tubing to the shower faucet. I am using copper from the fuacet to the shower head, I now need to know the best way to connenct the PEX tubing to the shower faucet. There seems to be two options, crimping or quick connects. I don't know which way to go. Crimpers cost 80 bucks plus the cost of the fittings. Quick connects are expensive also but do they stay leak proof for the long haul. Many of the connections will be hidden behind the dry wall. I want to use the best method. Any recommendations?

    Go with he crimp connectors if tou are talking aboutashark bite connectors they are not allowed behind walls in some towns

    Hi Johnee,

    If I am not mistaken we are allowed to use the Sharkbite fitting inside the wall and out side, I leave in California and I have used it and have no problem with it, I have attached some links for you open them and see what they say, also we have some real experts in this web site wait until morning when they log in and will give you their opinion too, but I am sure you can use the Sharkbite, the last link has more information regarding the Sharkbite fitting read it and also click on the screen to watch the vedio, good luck.
