I am 15 years old, turning 16 next month. I live in Florida and my parents are planning on moving to Tennessee next month. My aunt offered for me to live with her, but my parents would never agree to leaving me here. The best thing I can think of is if I could get her to have custody of me (which is fine with her.)
I already know that my aunt would be a more suitable guardian because she owns a house and has a job, and as long as I stay where I am it'll be easier for me to get a job to help support myself (we're living with my aunt right now.) Niether of my parents have a job, and they only own 6 acres in Tennessee. My parents are trying to raise 3 kids with nothing but unemployment money and food stamps, they don't even have the money to have a house built or buy one. They are expecting me and my little brother and sister to build a house with them once we move up there.

What do I need to do and how long would it possibly take?
I also need to know how much it could cost (my family is tight with money right now)

Sorry unless your parents are willing to sign over custody of you, your aunt is not going to force custody of you without their permission.

So unless she can prove they are unfit, or a danger to you, this is not going to happen

I have to agree with Chuck. I see no legal grounds for your aunt to obtain custody or even guardianship for you.
