    How is Unemployment Payment Calculated?
Thanks you so much in advance for any help you can give with this question.
Simply, is the amount of monthly unemployment calculated relevant to the individual's former monthly inome?
I'm collecting $580/mo (based on a job that paid only about 1100/mo). My wife, who was just informed she's being "surplussed" from her teaching job, made about $3800/mo--anyone have a ballpark figure on how much unemployment money she would receive?

If she was making 3800 a month she will receive most likely the state maxium, it varies by state. In TN she would get about 195 a week other states a little more, some a little less.

It is baes on the amount paid in over a number of qualifing quarters and then paid up to a state max.
