Sons uncovered Medicals bills Can they take his house
My son has a liver disease. He went into liver failure and ended up in intensive care with a bill of 100,000.00 left behind. We have received a certified letter saying he must pay this or they will lien against the home and guarenshee his wages. The loan is with a private loan holder not a bank. The principal of the loan has hardly been touched. The property was purchased for 50,00.00 and he still owes 47,500.00. Can they take the house? Can they take his pay. We are barely making it now.. anything we can do? We live in the state of Georgia.

They CANNOT put a lien on the home or garnish his wages UNLESS they win a judgment in court.

I recommend that you plead with them to allow you to make payments that you can afford... and keep a GOOD record of all calls and letters.

If they take you to court, be sure to show up and plead your case to the judge.

... hopefully others will add more to this...
