    Noisy GE Dryer
My dryer has been making loud droning noise. It is not squeaky. It works fine but the noise is out of control. I have taken apart the dryer, cleaned it out etc but have not replaced any parts. All parts look pretty good, but he noise won't stop. Any suggestions? I am going crazy and really just want to figure out what part needs to be ordered. Thanks

Usually if you look close enough you will see worn parts. Many times it is the tension loaded belt idler pulley and pin assembly which is a high wear item. What you might do to find the problem is disassemble and lubricate the rear bearing, idler pin and pulley assembly and make sure to check the fan assembly on the back side of the motor. Then put it back together and see if the noise is gone. Many times it is a trial and error type of things. Post your exact model number and I will try to find a picture of the insides of the dryer for you.

Thanks! My dryer model is DBXR453EV0WW. Thanks to all these posts I was confident enough to take apart, and I am thrilled that I was able to put back together again and it still worked.(with noise)
I am going to go store now to get the correct lubricant. To my eyes nothing looks "wrong" but then again I haven't done this before so what do I know! I think you are right about the pulley, sound seems to come from that area. There was red lubricant on the smaller wheel. A lot of these post speak about the rear bearing but I really don't have that "squeak." I was also wondering if I should order a new belt.

My folks have this same dryer. They called me up and asked me to take a look. Like was said earlier, those kind of things are hit and miss. Their dryer was making a loud droning noise as yours did. Wound up have to replace the motor and assembly. Works great now. Here's a link to a parts distributor that's cheaper than the aforementioned post:

DBXR453EV0WW BACKSPLASH, BLOWER & DRIVE ASSEMBLY

    Good luck!
