    Shower only produces hot water
Just recently my downstairs shower will only produce hot water, even when the dial is placed on the cold setting. I took the fitting for the shower/bath controls off but could not fix this problem.. How do I restore cold water to the downstairs shower?

How do I find the shower valve? The only visible identity on the dial is Symmons-Temptrol, Model A. Could be as old as the house 15. New pipes were installed in both bathrooms last year, new water heater in November of last year. All other units are working perfectly. Hope you can help.. Thanks

About the best I can do is put up a diagram of your shower valve. The inlet ports are clogged and will have to be checked and cleaned. Before you reassemble turn on the supplies and flush them out. Good luck, Tom
