    How old do my children have to be to choose
    4 years ago I let some people adopt my children under the pretences that I could see them whenever I wanted and be involved in their lives. About a year and a half ago they decided they didn't want to hold up their part. My boys are 6 &8 the oldest remembers allot but I don't think he's put it all together,they have him seeing a phcyciatrist because he wouldn't bond with his adopted mom because me and him have that special bond. I only get to see them by chance I run into them.

    First, If you allowed an adoption, then you relinquished your rights to the children. Unless the adoption agreement specifies that they allow you visitation, then you have no rights in their lives. If you have something to prove that you would be allowed to be in their lives, you have no legal standing.

    Children cannot decide where they want to live or with whom.

    The basic age at which they can decide for themselves is 18 ( age of emancipation in most states ). And as Scott said unless it was some form of open adoption allowing you to still participate in their lives ( albeit a visitor ) then that's up to the courts to enforce.
