Moved out of state.need copy of w2
I moved out of state and have not received my w-2 from my past employer. WHen I contact them they are telling me the only way to get a copy if to go to the HR dept to fill out a form. I now live out of state and this would require taking time off work plus traveling expenses. Is there another way I can get a copy of my w2?

I'm pretty sure they're required to send it to you. Ask for HR's number and tell them you'd like the copy sent to you. It shouldn't be a problem. If that doesn't work, ask them if they are available online. I know if the company goes through ADP they store theirs online. A lot of employers do use ADP.

They ARE required by law to make a reasonable effort to send you the W-2, either by mail or via fax or email.

Call the payroll department direct and ask to speak to a supervisor.
