    What is Durable Custody?
Did a search here and Google, and am not finding a definition.

Can anyone shed some light on what exactly "durable custody" means?

Doing a Google search for durable custody cites several cases where it was utilized, but not explained in a general manner. Help!

It should mean custody of a non specific time limit and bound to agreement by the courts.

That's about what I was thinking, too, after reading about cases where durable custody was being mentioned.

As to application, it is involving a child who has been in the care of the grandparent under order of Child Services. My guess is that the parent is going to be made to release parental right, and that the grandparent is going to be granted durable custody. I just wanted to try to find out as much as I could about what exactly durable custody entails.
