A monitor that shows no input signal is simply not receiving a video signal from the computer. There are a number of possible reasons for this.

The cable may be bad or not connected tightly (check the pins to make sure they're not bent, if you've been removing it and reinstalling it).

The input circuits in the monitor may be bad, though this is pretty rare in my experience.

The video card in the computer may be bad. This is probably the most likely problem. Remove the card and re-seat it. Make sure it's pushed down all the way. If it's built into the motherboard, you don't have to try to do that.

The video card's drivers may be corrupted.

Try to boot into safe mode. This will use the standard VGA drivers and will eliminate the video card's own drivers.

If you can find another video card to plug in (an old VGA card, for example), you can easily determine if the video card is bad.

Along with what NeedKarma mentioned, below, if you have an on-board sound card and an add-in card, try plugging the monitor into "the other connector".

I see from the specs that the video chipset is integrated: Gateway Support - Specifications

Did you disable the integrated video in the BIOS so that the computer will see the add-in card?

Also make sure the cable is in the right card and the right slot(for cards with 2 outputs).
