Hooking up a Nintendo Wii to a 1080p TV
All right, I'm new to this HDTV stuff so here goes. I have a 42" 1080p TV. I have my wii hooked up to the TV with just the standard av cables that come with the unit but the picture isn't very good. Now the wii isn't technically hd enabled but they do sell component cables that will up the resolution from the standard to 480p. My question is if the cables are worth the extra $$ or will the picture still be bad because of the large screen size?

Any input from someone who has dealt with the same problem would be extremely helpful.

    Thanks,

    Aaron

I bought the component cable for the wii and find the picture quality is a bit better than when I hooked it up with standard red/white/yellow av cables.

It's obviously nowhere near the quality of hdmi but is noticeably better! Apparently a wii with hdmi outut is expected this year

I'm going to purchase a new TV as mine is pretty old... I've already made the choice between LCD and plasma and decided to go with the plasma since I think it better suits what I am looking for. However, now I'm faced with another decision... should I buy a 720p plasma or shell out the couple...
