    Toilet leaking at flange
I have replaced the wax ring and shimmed the front to stop the rocking but I still get drops on the basement floor (lucky it's a ranch) , The flange was not connect to the drain pipe (3 inch metal) or the floor. I screwed it to the flooring but the pipe and flange are not flush. Is there and easy seal that won't leak or can I use that pvc flange that fits inside the pipe?

Is your old one flush with the floor surface, if so you're good to go with the Oatey. A flange can be flush with the floor or as high as the bottom of the flange flush with the floor. If you had to you can break off the old flange but it's a bit risky if you don't have the right tools or technique.

I am thinking that was the old wax ring and not the actual flange. Poke it with a screw driver or pencil, bets its wax.
