I've been at my current job for almost 12 years, in retail, and it looks like I'm being fazed out real soon. I have great customer service skills but no real hands on training for anything else, have been in upper management for the last 5 years. I have no idea what to do with my life right now or where to turn, can someone help me ?:confused:

Yes, you have to find the money to take 'time out' and find out where you want to go. It isn't hopeless out there, it is manageable, you just have to find a nitch for your skills. Don't even think of a home business, I can give you many reasons that won't work, in spite of what some may say here. It is not for everyone.

You just turned 50. That is fantastic ! Think of all the experience you have accumulated - NOW USE IT !!!

Public libraries need people at the front desk who have good customer service skills.

And of course there are tons of jobs in sales, and jobs in some aeras, law enforcement, corrections are seldom laying off, at least in any large numbers.
