I got a public intoxication ticket for 65$ and I live in Ontario canada.

Could anyone please tell me what the maximum amount of time before I have to pay it is? And what happens if I don't pay it (just curious)?

When the Court assessed the fine it gave you a time frame. It can vary.

If you don't pay, a warrant can be issued for your arrest. Warrants live forever.

In view of your other question about another charge, I'd pay it quickly and not take a chance.

They did not tell me anything and there is no place on the ticket that says when the deadline is.

What do you mean the court assessing the fine? A cop gave me the ticket and that was that.

It doesn't say that by a certain date you have to plead not guilty or pay the fine? It's just an open ended ticket - ?

It says I have 15 days. I guess that's what it is, and it doesn't say anything on the actual ticket. No deadlines.

Did it mention that site on the ticket? I have never seen a ticket like that without some sort of information about the due date. If there wasn't a specific time frame, then there should have been a place to call or lookup the time frame.

On the other hand, if there was a box for when you needed to enter a plea by and it wasn't filled in, you might be able to have the ticket quashed on the technicality.

Here's the law: "After receiving an Offence Notice (ticket) you have three options:
Plead guilty by paying the fine. Visit a court office to plead guilty but make submissions about the penalty (amount of fine or time to pay) Request a trial. Depending on what your ticket says, you may need to either mail in your ticket showing that you want a trial or you may need to visit a court office to file a request for trial. If you do not choose one of the above options within 15 days of receiving the ticket, or if you do not appear for your trial, a Justice of the Peace will review your case and may enter a conviction without you there. "

You have 15 days from the date of the ticket to pay it or enter a plea.

Of course you can dispute the ticket and file for a court hearing on it,
