    Adding 2nd floor shower drain
    I moved a 2nd floor toilet 2 feet to add a shower. Just extended the horizontal 3" drain pipe 2 feet and reset the toilet. Is it legal to connect a shower drain to a toilet drain?

    If so;
    Is it possible to add a 2" shower drain to the existing 3" toilet drain? Do I add this before the existing vent for the toilet or after?

    Hi Bfb...

    Definitely legal to attach to the toilet pipe or even the lavatory pipe IF the lavatory pipe is 2"..

    Would be nice if you can attach to the lavatory pipe as you may be able to use the lavatory vent as a WET VENT for the shower.

    Otherwise, you will need to attach to the toilet pipe but you will also need to run an 1.5" vent for the shower.

    Let us know the size of the lavatory drain pipe.. ok?

    Let us know more...
