I think we all have self confidence issues at one time or another.
From a personal standpoint when I am feeling self -conscious,I give myself a mental pep talk.
I remind myself what my assets are and try to put those forward.
Being good at just about anything takes practice,including bedroom sport.
Some people suggest jumping right into something that your afraid of,I'm more a take baby steps kind of person.
I think the thing to do is just take baby steps.Maybe take a class and meet like minded people that it would be easy to have a conversation with.
You also could be suffering from depression and may benefit from anti depressant drugs.
A shy friend of mine found Paxil to be a great benefit.She was really able to come out of her shell.
