    Name Change
    How do I change my son's last name without having to get his biological fathers approval? He is 2 and a half and his biological father has never been in his life. He doesn't even pay child support. I don't even think he works. My son has a father in his life. My boyfriend takes care of him and has been raising him since day one. We're getting married in less than a year and we want to change his last name to my boyfriends. He's going to adopt my son. What can I do?:confused:

    The adoption will take care of the name change. Get married, then contact a Family Law attorney to prepare the adoption. Part of this will be terminating the bio father's rights. This will be the most difficult part, but doable, even if the bio father refuses or can't be reached.

    Once the adoption is final, then your (now) husband will be his legal father and his name can be used..
