    Indecent sweat
Im having a very uncomfortable problem for most part of my life I've had a heavy sweating problem I'm 23 and am so ashamed to go out just because of the sweat marks that are contently not only embarrassing me but ruining my clothes. It doesn't end there its not only a armpit situation its even uncomfortable to hold my husbands hand as my palms are always moist. I've tried baby powder creams.. even that new secret deodorant and nothing works its not a weather thing because I'm canadian and its cold and even there I had this uncomfortable problem... is there anyone out there with my problem? What is working for you I would love to wear another color besides black :(

I'm not sure what that would be, are you a very nervous person? You could be so worked up your body just releases through sweating.

I'm canadian too, West side connect B.C. chapter. Haha, sorry, some one's playing some rap in the back.

But no, that seems like you may want to talk to a doc about that. OUr body's really sweat when it's hot out, or if we are under stress and our body temp goes up. I'm sure there is another reason, but I do not know.

THe book I have says, puberty, menstration, menopause and other hormonal changes, hot/ spicy food, alcohol, and smoking can be causes as well.

MORE IMPORTANTLY if you have an infection you will also sweat.

Rub on some rubbing alcohol, to restrict the pores, and to hold back sweating for hours.

Sprinkle on powder, baby powder, cornstarch, baking soda, etc. Lots of it.

Soak in a cool water bath, for about 30 minutes, to get about 3 hours of weatness protection.

Avoid hot foods, such as soup and so on, also avoid hot drinks, coffee, hot chocolate. (you can drink them but let them cool quite a bit.) Avoid spicy foods too.

If you smoke and/or drink cut way back. They both affect you in a sweaty way.

As a last resort talk to you doc, and ask about surgery. There are three of them :
Sympathectomy, in which your nerves connected to your sweat glands are severed.
The second is to remove the glands form the area affected. THe third, is Liposuction. The glands are sucked out with a small tube.

(WARNING: there are side effects, nerve damage, scarring damage, etc. Also the sweating in many cases comes back after two years.)

I hope that helps. I got it out of a book called symptoms their causes & Cures. Pages 512-514

Peace and kindness be with you.

Hi jargudo... this is an awful problem and for the sufferer very embarrassing.

I suffered myself when I was very young, but mine was caused through sheer embarrassment and nervous situations whilst growing up... my family were army people and compared to today's society quite staight laced,so when going out into the big world some things were a big shock.

Don't worry though, this can be a real medical condition, known as... Hyperhidrosis... it can be successfully treated.

Most people say it's your nerves or your stressed or hormonal, which could ofcoarse be absolutely right, but you say that you've suffered most of your life, so perhaps it is more than this.

Many people suffer from the same problem ,in fact there is a society called... THE INTERNATIONAL HYPERHIDROSIS SOCIETY, which can offer you an insight into what can be done medically and alike, because contrary to popular believe it is not always caused by nerves nor is it psycological.

My advice would be to go see your Doctor explain in full detail how this is ruining your life, your closeness with your husband etc.etc, say it as it is, ask to be referred if he cannot offer you help

GP's with respect are exactly that... general practitioners... you need to see someone who specializes in this field of medicine and they are there, so don't be fobbed off.

There are real treatment options, so go see your GP put your case, don't suffer this a moment longer.

See your GP for the correct diagnoses

    Goodluck

Botox injections in the armpit will cure the armpit problem... it is a common procedure, I believe.

You should visit Klima Deodorant on the web. They are a company that specializes in Hyperhidrosis (extreme sweating) - which you definitely suffer from. They have topical sprays and creams to stop the wetness and odor.

I am a true believer after our company researched the best antiperspirants and Klima Antiperspirant came up as the #1 choice. It was great information for me - since I am a HUGE sweating monster whenever I go anywhere.

Klima Deodorant has helped tremendously for me.

    Good luck!
