    360 or PS3?
I have owned an xbox360 for about a year now. I take pretty good care of it, but all of a sudden it gets the red ring of death. So I send it back to the manufacturer and they repair it. One month later, it won't play any cd's, dvd's, games, etc. so I have to send it back again. It has ben about two weeks since I received it in the mail. I will give it another two weeks before it breaks again. But I don't want to keep sending it back. I want a console that is reliable that will last for more than one year. I'm thinking about getting a ps3. Do you think it is a good idea?

You have to think long term, does the ps3 have anything god coming out for it, and is it worth the price tag, I mean at the moment I'm 360 because it has much better games for it and also better games coming out in my opinion but you will find people on both sides of the playing field saying ps3's are better certainly id agree ps3's are more reliable though.

I've been doing abit researching on xboxs and I found out that the older xboxs have got an old cooling system inside and the newer ones, I think 2007 and up have new cooling systems.
Its defiently a lot of the older xboxs that seem to be going wrong with this 3 red lights.
Check on the back were the serial number is to see how old your xbox is. Mine was built in June 2008, I use it nearly everyday and its been fine.

For now the 360 has more games, but it uses DVD's which can hold 4 GB... the PS3 is using 25 GB blu-ray discs and has more graphics processing power so there are more possibilities for larger, more graphic intense games in the future. Right now game designers are not using the full potential of the hardware.

It depends, if it was me I would keep the 360 until some PS3 exclusives grab your interest (like God of War III) and the price of the PS3 goes down.

Firstly even the new xbox 360s have the red ring of death still. Secondly which kind of games are you interested in? Are they on the PS3? If so then get one. Though admittedly the PS3 has less high rated games its one serious edge is that it is a blu ray player. So kind of a nice bonus. Really though in the end it comes down to what you want from a system and how much time you have to spend on that system. If you have an hour or to a day to kill after work and that is it then a PS3 is probably the way to go just because its much more reliable.
