    Father Rights
Wanting to know what rights my son has as a potential father. He was told that he was the Father but when he questions the date she then wants him involved. We went to the hospital after the birth and she did include him as Father in the information on the web page for the Baby's Photos that were taken at the hospital. He is not on the Birth Certificate, She now will not agree to a paternity test. Just wondering what his options are, I keep reading various different things and see where there is a time frame in which you must act, Is this true? Not sure why you would not want a willing Father to be involved in your child's life, Does he have any options or rights at this point? We also live in another state which makes it difficult. Please help!

At this point he has not rights excpet for file in court. Hosptial web pages are nothing.

    1. He needs to file in court for a DNA test, she will have to do the test if ordered by the court, Each state has its time frame but at this point he still has full rights

    2. after the DNA test, he would then file for visitiation and get child support set by the court

Is this an expensive process? And how do I make sure he gets a good lawyer?

No - its not expensive. He doesn't *need* a lawyer, but it never hurts.

And to answer your other question here, you file in the state that the child/mother live in.
