    No Social - Can't apply
I'm recently married and my husband doesn't have a social and no ITIN. I am filing my taxes MARRIED FILING SEPARATE. Do I have to have a social or ITIN for my husband if I'm filing separately and I won't be including him as an exemption and he doesn't work and won't be filing taxes or working? And state taxes too?

You did not provide info about your resident status, visa, husband's visa..

So assuming you are filing correct return and husband is nonresident alien, normally you will write name of your husband and for SSN "NRA."

You can file with just your husband's name and the letter's "NRA" where the SSN goes, but that will make filing the return on-line impossible.

The return will have to be mailed.
