Trasfer Registration from DE to NJ
    Hi,
I have DE corporation. Now I live in NJ would like to do business in NJ and would no longer like to maintain the DE corporation. In this process I would like to keep my Federal EIN intact to maintain history of my business and records.
    My questions below.

    a) What are my options?
    b) Process involved in the transfer.
    c) If too complicated is it even worth considering this transfer?

Any helpful resources and link will be appreciated.

    Thanks

There is absolutely no reason why you, have to, or should give up your DE incorporation. Just because you are incorporated in another state does not mean you cannot do business in all 50 states including NJ. Furthermore, I would highly recommend against giving up your DE incorporation, as this state is known for having the must business friendly laws in the nation.

Many companies across the nation incorporate in DE because of these laws, and again it makes no difference where you do business vs. where you are incorporated.

You do want to file with NJ and get a state EIN which hopefully can be the same as you’re federal. Basically all you will need to do is let NJ know you are now doing business there and you intend to pay the proper taxes etc.

I don’t know all the things you need to do offhand but I gave a good start above I think. If you need more help let me know and tomorrow I will try to do some research on this. Also let me know if you have any follow up questions.
