    What will happen to her
About 4 weeks ago I found out my nan has parkinson's disease but the thing that got me was that she has had it for 2 years. I have only known that side of the family for 10 years because of problems between my parents but anyway I'm scared I'm going to loose her. She is the only one I have become really close to. What I'm trying to ask is
    -what is parkinson's disease
    - is she going to die and if so how long dose she have
    - can I get when I'm older
Please help me answer these questions

First of all fisha, is your nan on meds for the Parkinsons? Parkinsons has many facets. My mom was diagnosed and lived with me l0 years and I never saw any tremors at all. Your nan may never suffer from it but then again, she may have tremors, hand shaking, etc. and at times you may (or someone else) may have to help her eat. I don't know if you can get it when you are older, but it isn't contagious if that is what you mean.

Thank you for worrying about and caring for your grandmother.

Here is a brief definition from the MayoClinic.com website which you can access to through Google if you want to know more:

    Definition

Parkinson's disease develops gradually, often starting with a barely noticeable tremor in just one hand. But while tremor may be the most well-known sign of Parkinson's disease, the disorder also commonly causes a slowing or freezing of movement.

Friends and family may notice that your face shows little or no expression and your arms don't swing when you walk. Speech often becomes soft and mumbling. Parkinson's symptoms tend to worsen as the disease progresses.

While there is no cure for Parkinson's disease, many different types of medicines can treat its symptoms. In some cases, your doctor may suggest surger
