    Carrier Furnace Thermocouple
I have an older Carrier home furnace that has a pilot light. I can get the pilot to light but it goes out when I let off the pilot button and before I can turn it to the "ON" position. I believe that the thermocouple may be bad but I can't ( do not know how to ) remove it from in front of the pilot.
    Thanks

Don't no what your asking. Pilot may need to be cleaned or thermocouple. If this does not take care of it may need new gas vaule.
Post some pic then we can help.

A standard thermocouple is attached to the gas valve and then to the pilot light assembly. You have to have the skills and tools to undue the thermocouple and replace with the new. It is all mechanical in nature. Where the pilot is sometimes they have a screw in adapter and sometimes a push in adapter. It could be either or in your case. Post a picture and I will see which lind it is. Also be very careful when you remove the pilot assembly to service the thermocouple. The aluminum pilot gas tube can hang on the brass nut and twist. If that happens you will also be buying a new aluminum tube with brass nut and a tube cutter to make it the proper length. A little WD-40 at the nut and tube make it come apart easier.
