You shouldn't need to format, most work straight away. Have you tried saving images on it from your phone? You may need to change the settings on your phone to get pictures to save onto the memory card. If you already have pictures on your phone that you would like to copy to your computer, go to the picture go to options, then you should see something like "move" or "copy" choose whichever one you want and then it should let you copy to "memory card" or "external memory". Once you have done this, you can put the micro sd card in the adaptor and into a memory card reader on your computer. If you still have the USB cable for your phone it might be easiest to plug that in to your computer and phone and move the pictures that way. If you need more detailed info, let me know.

Sounds strange. What format are the songs in?
When I want to play a song, I usually go to my files, memory card, my sounds and then choose the song I want from there. You should be able to flick through all songs in that folder by pressing forwards and backwards in the player when it comes up.
Let me know if you have any further problems and I'll do my best to help.

Without taking your card out and fiddling about with it, can you see the files on your memory card? You should be able to go to my files, memory card, my sounds and see all your songs there. Can you even get onto the memory card without mucking about with it?

I can see pictures but the music player won't read the card if I start it up with the card in it
