How long is a promisary note good for?
My boyfriend of 6 years borrowed money in 2003. He has paid very little back due to lack of work. I'm sick of waiting for it. He's a carpenter and does not work enough. I'm ready to take him to court. I want to know what my rights are.

What were the payment agreement in the note was he to pay so much a month, payment in full at some point?

The fact is, you ( depending on location) may have waited to long to use court action as the statue of limitation may have run out, so much depends on the terms of the contract

Like Fr_Chuck pointed out, the SOL may have expired on your note. What state do you live in? When was the last payment made, and do you have proof of it?
