    Fixing a sony projection TV
Hi, One morning upon turning my TV on it was showing very strange, shadowy colors. After about 1/2 hour the TV screen went black. When you turn the TV on it sounds as if it is powering on but then immediately shuts down and the standby light blinks 6 times continuously. I replaced the two IC chips and the HV Block and checked the pico fuses. After doing all that nothing changed. The TV still sounds like it is powering on and then immediately powers down and the standby light still flashes 6 times continuously. My TV is a Sony KP-46WT510 model projection TV. Any ideas for me to try? Thanks for your time.

The standby light blinking 6 times probably tells you something about the cause of the fault (a bit like the POST test in a PC). If you can find a service manual for your TV, it will probably explain the fault signalling and give you a clue what's wrong.

Failing that, ring a Sony service centre technician and explain the blinking, and they might tell you what the cause is.
