Bearings on an amana dryer PLG8153LM
Are the rear bearings in the dryer actually bushings? And the front are on slides? There is no evidence of broken material, but there aren't bearings either. Dryer doesn't have enough horsepower to turn the tub with a load on it. In a dryrun, with no clothes in it, it will start up. I took the drum off and cleaned and oiled the rear bushings. The drum will turn if you help the it start spinning. New bushings and slides?

No model listed as posted on master Amana part sheet. You posted a factory number here is the model number LG8153LM NOTE: Amana is Maytag.

It could be the slides or bushings/bearings but it could also be the motor getting tired with not enough starting torque. There is also a motor end switch that can cause the problem. Here is a factory manual that will help you.

Replacing drum bearings on GE dryer [ 1 Answers ]

Hi, My dryer is making a horrible squeaking noise (GE DPSR473EWOWW), so I am guessing it is the rear drum bearings. I ordered the kit, and now I am wondering how you get into the dryer to replace them. Thank You!

Replacing fridgidaire dryer bearings? [ 2 Answers ]

I have read on this site how to remove the dryer drum to replace the bearing. After taking the front off the dryer I realize that the drum is actually leaning against the inside of the dryer. My sqeaking noise could be a result of this while it is spinning (rubbing against the inside of the dryer)....
