    What are my rights?
I was charged $14000 for a helipcopter ride to the hospital that I didn't need and now they want me to pay $305.00 a month for 38 months. I am barely making enough after my bills to eat. If I send them a little money every month, can they still send me to collections or put a negative remark on my credit report? I did not meet the protocol for a medical helicopter airlift... should I even be responsible for the bill... should I fight it. Help

Merely sending a small amount does not stop them from doing anything, that is merely a myth. If you do not make payment in full or according to their terms, they may sue you.
** or send it to collections.

You merely deny owing it, and even hope they will sue you. If they sue you, you can use the defense that you did not need it and should not be held liable.

Or you can sue the person and group that called it.

Since you didn't request a medivac, that means someone did. Whether it was the EMTs called or the doctor treating you or whomever.

So you first need to find out who did. Was that person aware you didn't have insurance to cover it?

But as Chuck said, you tell them that you neither needed nor requested the service and you refuse to pay. Then let them sue you.
